Nikos Kazantzakis, a great greek
author, wrote one time ago about Odysseus that he is the immortal
representation of a navigator, a man who wants to discover the world and all
his marvels. His return to Ithaca was just a pretext, an excuse to travel
across the ocean and see the whole earth.
Now, when I read the greatest book
of Homero, a literature treasure, my interest can´t be other than go to Greece
and swim his sea, reach the shore of Eubea island and see a sunset there.
I think that in Greece there is a
lot of things to do. The birthplace of Western culture offer me the history of
an old and several country, with his customs and own idiosyncrasy, and a
spectacular landscape surrounded by aegean sea, like paradise. In specific,
I want to visit the Partenon and Athens city, corinth isthmus and the ruins of Sparta,
travel all around I can across Aegean sea and go to Rhodas and other Dodecanese
island.
However, I know that now Greece is
in times of troubles. I only expect to go there like a tourist and feel Greece’s
society in this time with the same respect I have with his history.
