Good vibrations for me

> Situations that did not go so well
This year, I have been searching a job as procurator at any law studio. A procurator is a student of law that works with a lawyer transporting claims or actions toward court and informing the progress of lawsuits under his responsibility. I see it as an opportunity to get experience before leave University, to learn a practical perspective of my future duty.
I feel I´m able to work and study at the same time, because I have finished a great part of my courses satisfactory. But, unfortunately, I haven´t been hired yet. I don´t know why but I have had 6 interviews until today. I still waiting the call that
But, meanwhile, I can enjoy my student life. Really, this isn´t a big problem for me now.

> Things you did not do / have not done yet / still have to do this year
This year, I have a lot of things that I haven´t done yet and I have to do. I promised myself that someday, when I have time, I will ride my bike and go to Aculeo Lake, to visit my friend Gabriel. I have seen him but here, at Santiago, and always that it happen, he says to me “Eduardo, when are you coming to my home? We have to ride together and plain a travel to the south of Chile. I have a debt with him and I couldn´t break a promise, especially if that promise I did it for myself.

I still have to learn to play a musical instrument. I never attempted before make my own music, but today I have meeting new friends who encourage me to do it, just for me, to learn a new form to express my feelings. There is a new challenge for me and I expect to achieve it.

The environment and me

My relationship with environment has been more like an indifferent situation than a friendly and strong story about fighting for a green planet. I don´t feel proud of it but is true. Honestly, my efforts to make this planet a little healthier can be counted with the fingers of a hand, because actually I don´t do any work to save the world, like recycling wastes and trash, or cultivate my own food and don´t buy transgenic products. I just help my grandmother to gather cans of soda or beer that we use at my home. I don´t expect an acknowledgement for do it but I hope help a little. Maybe I think “If you don´t going to clean it, not get dirty our planet”

During the past year, I tried to change that indifference over ambient issues and add healthier habits for myself. By this reason, I bought a bicycle thanks a wage I got those days. My plain was: ride my bike someday a week to go to Uni and back to my home. As a thought it was a good idea, but when I had to choose at the morning, after a deadly night of study and feel cold outside my warm home, between my freeze bicycle and an over-capacity bus, full of warm contact human, I didn’t be able to dare comfort and protect the world. Now, near to summer, I use my bike a lot, but no for save the environment, I´m  sorry.

My future job, I hope

When I start this career, I felt myself like a child walking between genius and wises, and I didn´t find my place at the University of Chile. Now, I have been 4 years here and this situation don´t change so more. But, I know that I have to choose  my specialization someday, grow up academically and get out from the university, work as everybody do. That´s why at this moment I´m preparing myself to carry this responsibility, studying interesting subjects which could be useful by me tomorrow.
For my future job, I would like to have a job that can give me time for do other activities, such as study a second career like pedagogue (I´ve decided it) or learn some martial art, for example. By this reason I´m thinking of working as an lonely lawer, making free exercise of the profession. I would like to work outdoor most of the time, because I want to go to courts and claim orally in front of judges, just like the new procedures will require in the future.
However, I know that when I leave my loved university and finish my law´s studies, I will have to work with other lawers to get practice and experience.

·         Do you think abortion should be legal for all women? Under what  circumstances?
Throughout times, women were an oppressed group, a gathering of people, most like objects than humans, which had to live with huge prejudices over her shoulders. Now, it is changing but not enough. I think women should be free to decide about their own business and nobody should tell him what can she does with his life. If a woman, unfortunately, is attacked by anyone who hurt her body, soul and finally life and her right to choose a future, I don´t see why we, as a community, have to turn back, bringing her all of our compassion but no attention to her broken aims, unheard claims and let her to go ahead dragging heavy chains attached to an awful episode of her life.
Actually, we have to let women choose a way for their self and let enjoying the life she wants especially in cases of rape, without restriction of age, as soon as possible after the attack had been. In the other cases I have doubts over deadlines to choice abortion.

·         Do you think parental consent should be required for abortion for women under 21?
At the way I see this issue, I think a woman under 21 can be able to decide about her life and body. In that case, parents only should be informed about their daughter´s choice.

·         Should religious precepts be taken into consideration to make laws on abortion?

I don´t see why we have to prefer any religion to rule an issue that affects us all, leaving without place to other points of view. I think law must be made to protect everyone and not a group, even thought it was a big or powerful group.

The music and my life

I´m not a person that need music to live, as if it was water or oxygen. I can´t understand when people say “this was an awful day, I left my cellphone at home and I didn´t can hear my music all day”, or “I really need to buy new headphones, these are a waste of metal and plastic” and spend $50.000 or more on it. I think that is not so bad if it don´t happen every day, and definitively I never would buy those headphones with my lacking savings.
However, music is important in my life and doesn´t matter if I can´t buy a lot of CDs for a popular artist or to get a treasured vinyl LP. I enjoy my music for a time by time, making some pauses between days fills of a non-stop search for new styles or waves of music, and others when I left behind my mp3 or my computer. I live on a cycle of two weeks approximately, enjoying music intensively sometimes, and passing on no songs after. Now, I am learning about jazz music, whole an ocean of good music and I hope to be hanging around a long time on it
I enjoy with the music of “La Renga”, an Argentinian band that plays hard rock music with particular songs of social critique I like. Every time they come to Chile I go to his shows, what are mostly parties or football matches than concerts, because they bring an unique festive atmosphere.

Finally, I think people should not have a music style that identifies them. I could not find any for me as you can see. You can find good music everywhere, from whole word; only you have to search well.

When I was at Machu Picchu

Definitively, my favorite travel for holidays was this: the expedition to Machu Picchu of my football team. In this picture we can see to Falconey, Cristian, Luis, Eric and myself, Eduardo.

This photograph shows a team of brave explorers. They said one day “hey man, would you like go to Machu Picchu?” and with only the will of set there, they traveled to Cusco, Perú and Machu Picchu city. We traveled to Perú at last march and we stay there 11 tiring days, making a lot of friends in any place we visit. One of them was “Parsha”, a friendly sushi cook that fed us with delicious typical food from Peru. Further, we met people from every country of South America, specially Argentineans and Chileans like us.

Here we can see the typical postal of this ancient and magnificent city, a really masterpiece of engineering and urbanism. All constructions are a perfect puzzle that accommodate on the old times hundreds of people there, if we think about nobles, aristocrats, soldiers, priests, traders and farmers. An entire metropolis in the middle of “Los Andes”. Now, today, only tourists from whole world walk by his streets.

I think this was my best holidays because I had never been in other country before it, and today I pledge that this don´t be the last one.

The Memories of my Childhood

In my life there is a place that can bring me back the most of my early and fresh memories. This place is the park set in front of my house, with his high trees and colored games. In there I spent many hours playing with my brother, Cristobal, and my neighbors and friends, each them of which were different ages, but all together could play any game, enjoy every adventure that we did.
When I was 5 years old I got my first bike. This was my favorite gift I had received until then. Out of school, any time I could, I rode my bike across the park and streets behind it. Someday, when I was 8 years old, I wanted to go so far that I could, and then I went until “The Sun highway”, from 20 squares from my house. In those years I thought “wow, I had never been so far from my house alone, seeing the cars under my feet”.
Now, I remember those days charged of fun, defiances and happiness, riding my bike across Santiago.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

Nikos Kazantzakis, a great greek author, wrote one time ago about Odysseus that he is the immortal representation of a navigator, a man who wants to discover the world and all his marvels. His return to Ithaca was just a pretext, an excuse to travel across the ocean and see the whole earth.
Now, when I read the greatest book of Homero, a literature treasure, my interest can´t be other than go to Greece and swim his sea, reach the shore of Eubea island and see a sunset there.

I think that in Greece there is a lot of things to do. The birthplace of Western culture offer me the history of an old and several country, with his customs and own idiosyncrasy, and a spectacular landscape surrounded by aegean sea, like paradise. In specific, I want to visit the Partenon and Athens city, corinth isthmus and the ruins of Sparta, travel all around I can across Aegean sea and go to Rhodas and other Dodecanese island.

However, I know that now Greece is in times of troubles. I only expect to go there like a tourist and feel Greece’s society in this time with the same respect I have with his history.

My final blog

The end of the semester is approaching and with it the end of this course of English. It's amazing how time flies between classes, tests and the uncomfortable assistantships incompatible with our subject. It´s easy to lose track of time when you are immersed in a homework of a hard course.  Honestly, sometimes you can´t reconcile your time and your duties.
Now, near to the end, I can look back and see how interesting was and is this course. I thanks that classes have been so fun and dynamic because it helps to understand and remember each session by jokes and laughter.
Moreover, I think that blogs has been a useful tool for create and study techniques for make varieties texts and reinforce writing abilities in general. It´s a practical way to do homework in any place and share my results with classmates and teacher to correct mistakes. Also, blogs allow for taking full advantages of the opportunities provided by internet, a sea of knowledge.

I think blog is fine. Together with this, I would add something like actually news review, miscellaneous items and opinion survey such as “What do you think about ginger girls, are they beautiful? Why?” It could have many variants.

My favorite movie

I don´t consider myself a fanmovie person. I don´t see movies often because I haven´t a style of movies or series predetermined to follow on internet. Some TV movies can attract me, but in many times that films are commercial productions, movies with amazing effects but a poorly argument. However, most of the films I see from TV, in channels like HBO, Cinemax and Europa&Europa, and suddenly I can find a good movie to see.
That was de case of “The Mission”, a 1986 British drama film. I don´t consider myself a religious person, let alone a catholic person, but I want to confess that I was captivated by this movie.
The film is about the Jesuits communities in Sacramento (today, Uruguay) named “missions”, a place to form and teach Catholics practice and European technical to Native Americans by Jesuits priest. This labor was disrupted as a result of disputes in Europe between Spain and Portugal monarchies about his relation with Jesuits, who had a great power in America. So, Portugal decides to eject Jesuits in these territories without worrying the work they have done and when they resist it, Portugal attacks without mercy.
Also his beautiful argument and screenplay, the mission has other artworks like legendary music by Ennio Morricone and his immortal Oboe. And don´t forget his beautiful photography about cataracts and sylvatic environment in general.

two website that I like

If you ask me for a career-related website that I enjoy, I can´t say only one because there is too many website on the internet that I like. And later when I think about my career in a website, I must confess that I don´t have any web to enjoy about law. All website I use at U only serve to work, to find jurisprudence (set of judgements that conform a opinion about a single law), like microjuris and legalpublishing. And in other websites more interesting like “el mercurio legal” you have to paid to read it and isn´t cheap. Damn greedy lawyers.

But recently I´ve found two pages that I like. This website aren´t exactly about law but contain material akin and near to the study of law.

One of them is “la Era de Hobsbawm” (http://laeradehobsbawm.wordpress.com/), a web with opinions about this important author and his work. Here we can find statistics and maps to expalin some of his theories such as “the twentieth century short” (1914-1989) and a particular interpretation of recently history. I visit this web at least once every two weeks because I like interesting content to offer.

In the second place I find “united explanations” (http://www.unitedexplanations.org/), a page to read about any problem around the world and his causes, written by ordinary people like you an me. Recently, I´ve visited tis place every day since last week, reading his interesting topics.

my dear kindle

If you ask me what is my favorite piece of technology, I can only say kindle.  I don´t know what is the pronounce of this little tablet, so I use the Chilean way to say it. But really, my e-book is the only object I never drop. I have a Kindle touch, a little tablet with e-ink, wifi access, touch window, audio and an elegant design.
I have it since 2012 and I´m so pride because I buy my Kindle with my first payment at the U. First, I felt nerd with it, I confess. But later I understood all the advantage and amenities I have with it.
I use it every day. When I am on the U, I can transport every book or paper I need for my subjects. On library, I have all my notes organized. Even on the subway I can read books inaccessible for my pocket, only using internet and my e-book.
Kindle never disappoint you. His battery longs easily, ehmm let me see….. 1 month

Sincerely, I can´t image my life at the U without my kindle.

A new year

This semester I take a lot of subjects again. I know that I promised myself last semester that I wouldn´t take more than 6 subjects, but every year I begin with all of my energy and I think I´m so powerful, yeah. Apart of my adorable subjects like civil law XXIII and process law XV, the sign of all student of law, I have a triad of really interesting subjects like criminology, a science for learn to be a delinquent and do everything I want against the law; consumer law, to defender myself against greedy traders; and procedural remedies, a practical subject that teach me I have not learned nothing on this four years. My parents will be so proud of his son.
But, that is not all. I have taken other subjects too just for fun like English and Agriculture, a cfg subject stand at FAU. It hasn´t nothing in common with law but I want to know a really science, meet new people on the funniest campus of the U and do a little orchard at my house.

I expect on this semester don´t lose any subjects and enjoy my last years at U.

Hi, I´m Lalo and that´s I´ve done in my life:

I was born on Santiago of Chile the 26th of december of 1992 and yes, I´m capricorn like Jesus. So, that´s a cool sign of the zodiac, I guess.

I´ve lived all of my life in Santiago, beautifull but a polluted city in the middle of Chile. This is a very big city, then, I always visit a new place to meet. I live in Maipú, on the west of Santiago, with all of my family, my parents Eduardo and Ximena, my little brother Cristobal and Campeón, a willful albin dog. With them, I have never be boried.

On the school, I was a regular student, always trying to enjoy my time on thats jail with my friends. I was so happy when I go out of the school and come to de University of Chile. Here, I study Law, but my favourite subjet is History and Language. I think Law have a little of them, just a little.

I love swimming and books.

See you later.
